Mini PIPO Kinshasa (Peace and Sustainable Development)
Some smart thinkers of an organization called East Eagle Foundation which is based in the Democratic Republic of Congo believe that peace is the absence of conflict and the plinth of any sustainable development. They are well aware that real peace can only start in the mind believing in the preamble to the UNESCO’s Constitution “Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed”.
In order to help sow the seed of peace into the minds of the youth of Congo and (especially the one of Kinshasa) so that sustainable development is fostered in their various communities, East Eagle Foundation has partnered with World Peace Initiative to train some young leaders, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and students through a 3 days program.
Our Peace Architect and West Africa Coordinator Philippe Houinsou has been invested with the noble mission of leading that program. He trained the participants on how to culture their inner peace in order to not only make peace reign in their communities, but also to promote sustainable development through the self-development of each individual. He also had the opportunity to promote the upcoming Peace Revolution Summit and got a lot of attention from the participants who view it as an important crucible for networking. The program ended with the participants being convinced that they can definitely develop their emotional intelligence with the powerful tool they were given, which tool is called meditation.
